optik Bien Nacido Vineyard Syrah 2019

The optik Syrah 2020 was practically made to be eaten alongside BBQ. From the molasses glazed beef ribs and candied kalamata olive on the nose to the blackberry compote, port wine reduction and violet flowers on the palate, this wine is massive. All of the power is wrapped in more savory elements of printer’s ink, crème de mure, dulce de leche and cherries jubilee. While this sounds like a dessert wine, the savory elements of marjoram, tree bark and pickled plum all shine through.
